The story behind the artwork

Sun-kissed means letting your soul shine like the sun. When we feel good about ourselves, we radiate from the inside out. As a result, the world from our perception is much better. I used warm earthy colours to help convey that idea. I wanted the colours to evoke that feeling of being out in the sun, letting your demons go and enjoying life with who you are.

Alejandro Lauren

I’m Alejandro Lauren, also known as Wayde Clarke. Alejandro is my alter ego a part of me that allows me to be loud and proud. I created them to break out of my comfort zone, to step into a space where I can truly shine, pushing past my own boundaries and embracing the fabulous person we all are.

My art is deeply tied to the human experience and emotion. I believe that the one thing that connects us all is how we navigate life’s challenges how we cope, manage, and share our stories. Through my work, I’ve learned to embrace vulnerability, sharing my own experiences and stories in the hope that others might see themselves reflected in my art. I want my work to help people connect, relate, and even heal, just as it has done for me.
