The story behind the artwork

'Lucid Dreaming' is a profoundly personal creation that represents my journey towards self-acceptance, the release of insecurities, and the beautiful embrace of love in its purest forms.

 

The title, 'Lucid Dreaming,' symbolises a state of heightened awareness and clarity, much like the experience of realising you are in a dream and taking control. In this artwork, I aimed to capture that transformative moment when I broke free from self-doubt and self-criticism and embraced the journey towards self-love and the love of others.

 

This artwork's central theme revolves around letting go of insecurities and allowing oneself to embrace love, both in terms of self-love and being loved by others. The artwork exudes a vibrant and dreamlike quality, reinforcing the awakening and transformation theme inviting viewers to step into a world where insecurities have no place.

 

In essence, 'Lucid Dreaming' is a work that is meant to encourage viewers to shed their insecurities and immerse themselves in the transformative embrace of love. It is a visual representation of my journey towards a brighter, more self-affirming existence, and I hope it resonates with others on their journeys of self-discovery..

I’m Alejandro Lauren, also known as Wayde Clarke. Alejandro is my alter ego a part of me that allows me to be loud and proud. I created them to break out of my comfort zone, to step into a space where I can truly shine, pushing past my own boundaries and embracing the fabulous person we all are.
