The story behind the artwork

Growing and Thriving

From struggle to bloom this is your story too.

Growing and Thriving is a powerful reflection on how life’s hardest moments shape us. With vibrant colours and flowing organic forms, this artwork honours the journey of walking through your past—revisiting the “lakes” you once nearly drowned in, only to realise they’ve helped you grow roots and bloom.

This piece speaks to resilience. It’s about seeing beauty not just in the good, but in the struggle the heartbreak, the healing, and the rising. It gently reminds us that growth often comes from the places that tested us the most. And through that growth, we become softer, wiser, stronger.

Let Growing and Thriving be a beacon in your space a daily reminder that your story isn’t defined by pain, but by your ability to rise through it. For anyone who has walked through fire and come out blooming, this piece belongs with you.

Alejandro Lauren

I’m Alejandro Lauren, also known as Wayde Clarke. Alejandro is my alter ego a part of me that allows me to be loud and proud. I created them to break out of my comfort zone, to step into a space where I can truly shine, pushing past my own boundaries and embracing the fabulous person we all are.

My art is deeply tied to the human experience and emotion. I believe that the one thing that connects us all is how we navigate life’s challenges how we cope, manage, and share our stories. Through my work, I’ve learned to embrace vulnerability, sharing my own experiences and stories in the hope that others might see themselves reflected in my art. I want my work to help people connect, relate, and even heal, just as it has done for me.

Each piece is a journey of colour, emotion, and meaning, celebrating life, culture, and the power of human connection. I invite you to explore my art, and I hope it resonates with you on a personal level.

Thank you for stopping by, and I hope my work brings you as much healing and inspiration as it has brought me.
