The story behind the artwork

Keep on Climbing is a reflection on growth, resilience, and the people who walk beside us through life’s challenges. The layered circles and journey lines symbolise the many paths we travel, the obstacles we overcome, and the connections we form along the way.

This piece speaks to the importance of community — whether it be family, chosen family, friends, or the people who support and guide us when life feels heavy. While life can be challenging and uncertain at times, there is strength in leaning on those we love and trust. Through connection, support, and shared experiences, we continue to grow, heal, and keep moving forward.

The earthy tones throughout the work represent grounding, stability, and the memories and stories we carry with us on our journey.

Alejandro Lauren

I’m Alejandro Lauren, also known as Wayde Clarke. Alejandro is my alter ego a part of me that allows me to be loud and proud. I created them to break out of my comfort zone, to step into a space where I can truly shine, pushing past my own boundaries and embracing the fabulous person we all are.

My art is deeply tied to the human experience and emotion. I believe that the one thing that connects us all is how we navigate life’s challenges how we cope, manage, and share our stories. Through my work, I’ve learned to embrace vulnerability, sharing my own experiences and stories in the hope that others might see themselves reflected in my art. I want my work to help people connect, relate, and even heal, just as it has done for me.

Each piece is a journey of colour, emotion, and meaning, celebrating life, culture, and the power of human connection. I invite you to explore my art, and I hope it resonates with you on a personal level.

Thank you for stopping by, and I hope my work brings you as much healing and inspiration as it has brought me.
