The story behind the artwork

As the day gently bows its head, surrendering gracefully to the twilight, the sky becomes a canvas painted with strokes of fairy floss pinks, whispers of lavender, and delicate shades of amber. Each colour blends effortlessly into the next, creating an ethereal gradient that feels like a tender goodbye whispered by the sun. This magnificent display softly signals the coming of night, preparing the heavens for the arrival of shimmering stars.

As darkness gently wraps the world in its embrace, stars begin to pierce the velvet sky, each one flickering into existence with a quiet brilliance. These stars are more than mere celestial bodies—they are the sparkling eyes of our ancestors, gazing lovingly down upon us. Every night, they return to watch over us, sharing stories of wisdom, guidance, and strength, reminding us of our roots and the powerful bonds that hold our communities and families together.

Under this starry blanket, we feel the warmth of generations past, their light illuminating paths forward, guiding us through challenges, and celebrating our joys alongside us. It is a comforting thought, knowing that each night, our ancestors gather above, their spirits dancing in the constellations, silently supporting us, ever-present and forever connected.

Thus, the daily journey from sunset’s radiant farewell to the starry welcome of night becomes more than just a transition—it is a sacred moment where we reconnect, honour, and celebrate those who came before us.

Alejandro Lauren

I’m Alejandro Lauren, also known as Wayde Clarke. Alejandro is my alter ego a part of me that allows me to be loud and proud. I created them to break out of my comfort zone, to step into a space where I can truly shine, pushing past my own boundaries and embracing the fabulous person we all are.

My art is deeply tied to the human experience and emotion. I believe that the one thing that connects us all is how we navigate life’s challenges how we cope, manage, and share our stories. Through my work, I’ve learned to embrace vulnerability, sharing my own experiences and stories in the hope that others might see themselves reflected in my art. I want my work to help people connect, relate, and even heal, just as it has done for me.

Each piece is a journey of colour, emotion, and meaning, celebrating life, culture, and the power of human connection. I invite you to explore my art, and I hope it resonates with you on a personal level.

Thank you for stopping by, and I hope my work brings you as much healing and inspiration as it has brought me.
