The story behind the artwork

I always struggle when people say blues are a boy's colour and Pink is a girl's colour. This is far from the truth colour isn’t assigned to a gender. I feel that colour is an emotion, it evokes feelings, and memories, The colours can help with masculinity and femininity but it isn’t just a colour for gender. This is howDo how I came up with the concept of this piece and I had a lot of fun doing it because there are days when I feel more feminine than masculine and vice versa.

Alejandro Lauren

I’m Alejandro Lauren, also known as Wayde Clarke. Alejandro is my alter ego a part of me that allows me to be loud and proud. I created them to break out of my comfort zone, to step into a space where I can truly shine, pushing past my own boundaries and embracing the fabulous person we all are.

My art is deeply tied to the human experience and emotion. I believe that the one thing that connects us all is how we navigate life’s challenges how we cope, manage, and share our stories. Through my work, I’ve learned to embrace vulnerability, sharing my own experiences and stories in the hope that others might see themselves reflected in my art. I want my work to help people connect, relate, and even heal, just as it has done for me.

Each piece is a journey of colour, emotion, and meaning, celebrating life, culture, and the power of human connection. I invite you to explore my art, and I hope it resonates with you on a personal level.

Thank you for stopping by, and I hope my work brings you as much healing and inspiration as it has brought me.
