The story behind the artwork

Can you believe the tea that’s being spilled?

THE TEA is about that sacred little ritual of sitting down with your friends over a coffee, a cuppa or whatever hot bevvie is keeping the conversation alive. One story becomes another, somebody says, “You didn’t hear this from me,” and suddenly the gossip is so good your drink has gone completely cold.

It’s fun. It’s camp. It’s friendship in its most fabulous form.

Part of the Moments in Life collection, this original painting celebrates the chats, secrets and wildly unnecessary details that bring us closer together. Yes, gossip is technically bad but delivered with love, dramatic timing and a trustworthy friend? Sometimes it’s very good for the soul.

Small but full of personality, this colourful original is made for a cosy home, a kitchen, a coffee corner or that perfect little nook that needs something cheeky. It’s a joyful reminder to pour the tea, gather your people and tell the story properly—from the beginning, with names.

Because the tea may be hot, but the friendship is hotter.

Alejandro Lauren

I’m Alejandro Lauren, also known as Wayde Clarke. Alejandro is my alter ego a part of me that allows me to be loud and proud. I created them to break out of my comfort zone, to step into a space where I can truly shine, pushing past my own boundaries and embracing the fabulous person we all are.

My art is deeply tied to the human experience and emotion. I believe that the one thing that connects us all is how we navigate life’s challenges how we cope, manage, and share our stories. Through my work, I’ve learned to embrace vulnerability, sharing my own experiences and stories in the hope that others might see themselves reflected in my art. I want my work to help people connect, relate, and even heal, just as it has done for me.

Each piece is a journey of colour, emotion, and meaning, celebrating life, culture, and the power of human connection. I invite you to explore my art, and I hope it resonates with you on a personal level.

Thank you for stopping by, and I hope my work brings you as much healing and inspiration as it has brought me.
