The story behind the artwork

Mountains at Dawn is a reflection on the obstacles we face throughout life and the strength it takes to keep moving forward.

We all have mountains to climb. Along the way, we may cross waters we once feared would drown us, face steep inclines that test our strength, and move through moments when the peak feels impossibly far away.

But when we finally reach the top, we deserve to look back with pride at everything we survived, overcame and carried with us along the way.

This artwork is a celebration of resilience, courage and the quiet determination it takes to continue through life’s most difficult seasons. The dawn represents a new beginning — the light that arrives after darkness and the reminder that every climb can lead us somewhere new.

Alejandro Lauren

I’m Alejandro Lauren, also known as Wayde Clarke. Alejandro is my alter ego a part of me that allows me to be loud and proud. I created them to break out of my comfort zone, to step into a space where I can truly shine, pushing past my own boundaries and embracing the fabulous person we all are.

My art is deeply tied to the human experience and emotion. I believe that the one thing that connects us all is how we navigate life’s challenges how we cope, manage, and share our stories. Through my work, I’ve learned to embrace vulnerability, sharing my own experiences and stories in the hope that others might see themselves reflected in my art. I want my work to help people connect, relate, and even heal, just as it has done for me.

Each piece is a journey of colour, emotion, and meaning, celebrating life, culture, and the power of human connection. I invite you to explore my art, and I hope it resonates with you on a personal level.

Thank you for stopping by, and I hope my work brings you as much healing and inspiration as it has brought me.
