The story behind the artwork

Who said you have to fit into a box to wear a crown?

Save a Horse, Crown a Cowbae is a colourful, playful celebration of individuality, confidence and being unapologetically yourself.

It's about knowing who you are, owning your space and walking through life like the absolute boss you were born to be. No labels, no rules and definitely no shrinking yourself to make others comfortable.

With a little Western flair, a whole lot of attitude and crowns worn proudly, this artwork celebrates the freedom to express yourself however you choose.

Because royalty isn't about gender, status or fitting someone else's idea of who you should be. It's about recognising your own worth, embracing everything that makes you different and having the confidence to show up exactly as you are.

So straighten that crown, cowbae. You were never meant to blend in.

Alejandro Lauren

I’m Alejandro Lauren, also known as Wayde Clarke. Alejandro is my alter ego a part of me that allows me to be loud and proud. I created them to break out of my comfort zone, to step into a space where I can truly shine, pushing past my own boundaries and embracing the fabulous person we all are.

My art is deeply tied to the human experience and emotion. I believe that the one thing that connects us all is how we navigate life’s challenges how we cope, manage, and share our stories. Through my work, I’ve learned to embrace vulnerability, sharing my own experiences and stories in the hope that others might see themselves reflected in my art. I want my work to help people connect, relate, and even heal, just as it has done for me.

Each piece is a journey of colour, emotion, and meaning, celebrating life, culture, and the power of human connection. I invite you to explore my art, and I hope it resonates with you on a personal level.

Thank you for stopping by, and I hope my work brings you as much healing and inspiration as it has brought me.
